Anner Castle is available for most of the year for self-catering holidays and short breaks. The castle was built in the mid-nineteenth century and the impressive entrance front has been praised in Burke's "Guide to Country Houses". The rooms are comfortably furnished so that they retain their character and charm. The attractive grounds are spacious; a place where children can play games on the lawns and adults can sit and relax. Anner Castle is located in the silvan Suir valley in County Tipperary and is an excellent base for those who enjoy outdoor activities such as mountain climbing, hill walking, golf, fishing and horse riding. There are also many historical sites and places of interest in the area including: The Rock of Cashel, Cahir Castle, Ahenny high crosses, caves at Michelstown, Tipperary and Waterford Crystal Visitor Centres, and The Bru Boru National Heritage Centre where traditonal Irish music, song, dance and even banquets may be enjoyed. To the south, you can discover the charming coastline with its secluded, peaceful coves and broad sandy beaches, tall cliffs and seacaves.
